Overview

Ylläs is located in Kolari, West Lapland, in Finland.

Yllas area consists of seven fells and two original lappish villages. At 718m, Ylläs fell itself is one of the highest fells in Lapland. Äkäslompolo village is located on the northern side of the the Ylläs fell and Ylläsjärvi village on the southern side

Ylläs is the home to the longest runs in Finland. With 61 slopes and 29 lifts Ylläs is the largest resort in Lapland and Finland. Ylläs has also excellent Snowpark areas, Super-G slope and Off-piste slopes.

For snowboarders, Ylläs is a dream come true with many possibilities. It is also one of the most popular places among telemark skiers and off track skiers with several fells of untouched snow. 

It has grown into one of the biggest winter holiday resorts without losing any of its typical Lapland charm

Getting There

You can reach Ylläs either by air from Helsinki to Kittilä (about 1:30 hours) or by train from Helsinki to Kolari (about 13 hours). You can also board the train in several places around the route.
