Val Thorens in France is the highest ski resort in Europe at 2300m and it is situated amongst six glaciers. The resort is part of the Les Trois Vallées which is made up of the three valleys: Val Thorens-Orelle (140 km of runs); la Vallée des Bellleville (300 km of runs) and Les 3 Vallees (600 km of runs). Summer skiing is possible on the Glacier de Péclet and snow conditions are excellent throught the winter season (November to May) due to the high altitude. When the weather is bad head for the Sports Centre with over 20 activities available such as an aqua center, tennis, table tennis, roller hockey, squash, fun park (trampolines), climbing wall and more. |

Airports: Geneva-Cointrin (159 km) By Car: Val Thorens can be accessed easily from any major European city via the freeways. From Paris it is 650 km via motorways - A6 to Lyon the A43 via Chamberry and then the N90 via Moutiers. From Moutiers the road climbs up the Three Vallees, past Les Menuires. By Train or Bus: The nearest railway station lies in Moûtiers (37 km). Bus and taxi connexions to Val Thorens are available. |
